Thanksgiving 2007

Well, my lil' sis in on my back...no not really....she's just nicely reminding me that I'm not very good at this blogging thing yet! :) She says I need to post. Why? I'm going to see her in an hour and she's the only one so far that knows about this....but I don't think she knows that.

Anyways, soon I'll send out an email to family and friends who may want to keep up on our lives through this blog. I'm not sure why I'm holding back on that. Maybe because I'm not good at blogging yet?

This year I really have so much to be thankful for, despite it feeling like it's been another year of turmoil overall. My family is so supportive and always there, even if we don't talk all that much. I know I can count on them. I have the most wonderful husband and children and two super dogs who always keep me smiling. I have a few friends that I really consider friends. I have had to grieve learning about people that I thought would stand by me in tough times but haven't, and that has been hard, but I'm working through it with God's help! "I can do all things through him who gives me strength." ~Philippians 4:13. It certainly is the truth.

So, until I post again, I am going to focus on that verse. It has gotten me through so many tough times.

I'm Actually Blogging....Won't My Sister be Proud!!!

Hi everyone! Okay, I created this blog probably a month ago and for some reason have had a hard time getting started! I have followed my sister's blog for a few years and it has been awesome getting to know her on a different level since we don't get to talk all that much but I love her with all of my heart. I am 8 years older than her and much of our childhood was separated by me being at college.

Anyways, she has been my inspiration for starting my own blog and I'm really not completely sure what direction this will take...maybe it will just be cathartic for me to write about stuff going on...then it's out of my head now swirling around anymore. We'll see where God leads me on this! But it just wouldn't be right to start this blog and not give my lil' sis the credit for getting me going!

As you can see, my title is "Don't Save It All...". This is one of my most favorite songs ever by Avalon (my sister definitely loves songs so my title also HAD to involve a song!) and I described a bit of how I chose that title already, but I just have to add that Sis and I were able to go see Avalon in concert in September which was awesome. She frequently (compared to me!) goes to concerts but I don't very much, so it was grand.

Anyways, I'll be back here and there. Have a grand week! Oh, and that's a pic of my awesome sis and her hubby. :)

Oh, yes...I need to also add that my hubby helped me come up with my blog site name, goldenpause. We recently added an awesome Golden Retriever Puppy to our house, Marlie, along with our 3-year-old Shepherd/Lab Mix Dog named Regan. I also am working on taking a few more "pauses" in life and slowing down a bit, although God has done some of that for me because I have not recovered very well from my second of 2 back surgeries and am consequently slowed down a lot more than I like sometimes. Also, that is where "Golden Mommy" comes from. I have wanted to have a Golden Retriever for about 5 years and want to breed her eventually so this has been a big thing in my life. :)

Okay....now I'm signing off....'til next time....
